Dr. Wolfgang Hammes is an expert in strategic management of inflation risks. In 2016, he published the prescient book “The Return of High Inflation,” in which he warned of a major inflation crisis. He has been a partner of McKinsey & Company in New York and a Managing Director of Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch in London, UK. At Deutsche Bank, he was co-head of the European Financial Institutions Group.
He is the co-founder of The Vangi Group, a boutique consulting company focusing on strategic risk management, leadership, strategy, and critical thinking/performance culture. He looks forward to collaborating with other Umbrex members, particularly on inflation management issues.
He lives in Boca Raton with his wife and two teenage children. His hobbies include running, tennis, and reading (particularly in the area of neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy).
