Piers Rosholt is a climate and sustainability expert, formerly a Senior Engagement Manager in McKinsey & Company’s Sustainability Practice, with experience in both the Africa and New York offices. He brings a unique blend of strategic acumen and climate expertise, having worked extensively across the private, social, and public sectors with a focus on emerging markets, particularly Africa.
Piers has played a pivotal role in designing and managing high-impact initiatives, including advising on developing mini-grid country strategies and rural electrification plans, and leading the design of a $1 billion blended finance vehicle to accelerate climate transitions. His collaboration with the World Economic Forum on a landmark McKinsey report, ‘The role of public–private–philanthropic partnerships in driving climate and nature transitions’, and his organization of a high-profile COP27 panel with further reflect his thought leadership in climate solutions.
Known for his strong leadership, Piers has led diverse, cross-continental teams, fostering an inclusive environment that drives results. His skills in multistakeholder engagement are well honed, evidenced by his representation of McKinsey at high-stakes discussions, including those with the COP28 Presidency and senior energy officials. Piers has a proven track record of engaging effectively at all levels, from government ministers to large institutional investors.
