Mark Shahinian is a consultant who helps organizations work through their strategy, operational and commercialization questions around decarbonization. He has helped clients from solar startups to pension funds to multinational manufacturers arrive at solutions that allow them to play significant roles in a low-carbon economy. Mark’s expertise is rooted in energy markets and understanding new hardware and software opportunities in decarbonization.
He has held operating roles from running an ESCO’s operations to product management at enterprise software companies. Mark worked as a consultant in McKinsey & Company’s energy and sustainability practices. Prior to that, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cote d’Ivoire and Madagascar and worked as a newspaper reporter.
Mark earned a joint JD/MS in law and environment from the University of Michigan and a BA from Dartmouth College. In his free time, he enjoys getting out in the outdoors in California on bikes, surfboards, backcountry skis or with just a backpack.
