Program Overview

Who it’s for

College students exploring management consulting as a career.

What you get

  • Monthly 1:1 meeting with your mentor
  • Quarterly online event with all the consulting fellows led by an Umbrex Managing Partner
  • Connection to the other consulting fellows in a private online forum
  • Resources to help prepare for your consulting career
  • Profile included on the Umbrex website (opt-out available)
  • Included in the bio book send to consulting firm recruiting teams (opt-out available)

What it isn’t

Not a case-prep or résumé-writing service. Your mentor can offer feedback and guidance, but formal case training and résumé services are not included. We offer a list of firms and individuals that do provide this service for a fee.

Timeframe:

  • October 2025 – February 2026: Request Application
  • March 1, 2026: Applications distributed
  • April 1, 2026: Applications due
  • May 1, 2026: Admission decisions announced
  • September 2026: Fellowship begins
  • May 2027: Fellowship ends

For College Students

Why apply

  • Gain practical insight into consulting recruiting, networking, and interview preparation strategy.
  • Get personalized guidance on résumés, cover letters, outreach, and navigating firm processes.
  • Build confidence and industry fluency if you don’t already have consulting exposure in your family or network.

 

Eligibility

  • Strong interest in a consulting internship and full-time path.
  • Priority consideration for current first year college students entering sophomore year in Fall 2026.

 

How it works

  • 1:1 Mentorship: Meet once per month with a mentor who has experience at a top-tier consulting firm.
  • Quarterly Cohort Sessions: Join all-hands Zoom meetings with Fellows and mentors, hosted by an Umbrex Managing Partner.
  • Scope of support: Strategic guidance on your approach to applications, networking, interview readiness, and professional development. (For formal case training, we can suggest third-party resources.)
