Choose a preparation plan based on the time available and your current skill level. Whatever the timeline, prioritize diagnosis, targeted drills, realistic practice, and review rather than simply maximizing case volume.
The 7-Day Emergency Plan
- Days 1–2: Learn case fundamentals and complete a diagnostic case.
- Days 3–5: Drill structure, math, exhibits, synthesis, and recommendations while completing selected full cases.
- Days 6–7: Conduct realistic mock interviews, review recurring mistakes, and reduce preparation before interview day.
The 14-Day Plan
- Week 1: Learn fundamentals, diagnose weaknesses, and practice individual skills.
- Week 2: Increase full-case practice, address recurring weaknesses, and finish with interview simulations.
The 30-Day Plan
- Week 1: Fundamentals.
- Week 2: Targeted drills.
- Week 3: Integrated full cases.
- Week 4: Realistic mock interviews and final refinement.
The 8-Week Plan
- Spend the first two weeks building fundamentals, the next two strengthening individual skills, Weeks 5–6 increasing full-case practice, and Weeks 7–8 focusing on realistic simulations and remaining weaknesses.
The Semester-Long Plan
- Develop business knowledge, mental math, and case fundamentals gradually. Add drills and peer practice over time, then increase full-case intensity during the final four to six weeks before interviews.
- Final principle: Longer preparation does not automatically produce better results. Use the time available to move deliberately from learning to drills, integration, feedback, and realistic interview practice.
