It is great to be creative and think about new ways of doing things.
But if you’re going to innovate, be deliberate.
Have an explicit conversation with the relevant stakeholders.
“We’re going to deviate from our normal process to test out this new approach.”
Otherwise, if that conversation hasn’t happened: follow the standard operating procedure.
