My dad, shown here with me at Joshua Tree National Park last week, always encouraged my questions, and keeps asking questions himself.
He wanted to know what caused the pyramid-shaped piles of rocks, so we looked it up.
Incidentally, my dad (a PhD who designed fuel for civilian nuclear reactors before retiring to become a handyman) says that he almost never goes to town without getting at least one compliment on these suspenders (he owns six pairs.)
