Umbrex is pleased to welcome Erika Peterson. Erika brings nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of technology and finance. Most recently, she served as a Managing Director on BlackRock’s Corporate Strategy team, where she led the firm’s 2030 strategy and a range of cross-functional initiatives aimed at advancing long-term growth. Erika began her BlackRock journey in the Aladdin business, where she spearheaded strategic, operational, and regulatory efforts.
Prior to BlackRock, she held roles at Google in both New York and Mountain View, working across Product Management and Partnerships—most notably helping to build a retail banking product from the ground up and leading complex, enterprise-wide collaborations. She began her career in finance, including roles in hedge funds and investment banking, and spent several years at Bain & Company in Toronto.
Erika holds an MBA from INSEAD (France), a Master of Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics (First Class Honors) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. She is also a CFA charterholder. Erika lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
