The complexities of competing in global markets continue to multiply as geopolitical instability, economic uncertainty, and environmental concerns have escalated in the priorities of global supply chains. As a result, the number of “tools” a leader must have in their “kit” has likewise expanded. Without them, navigating these complexities can be perilous.
As a certified energy systems engineer, and now having led global supply chain teams, I’ve been keen to engage in conversations that help professionals and leaders build their environmental “intelligence” (sorry “EQ” was already taken 🙂 This can get very “nerdy”, but the following from HBS is a great foundational, easy to read, article to help improve your team’s vocabulary related to setting strategy and goals in enterprise emissions.
(Note to early career persons out there, or anyone mid-career interested in a change: This is an interesting area to consider given it is a fledging profession/expertise. Like any new endeavor, first movers may have an advantage toward the “10,000 hour rule”.)
