Change is hard. Yet, it’s the only constant I’ve truly known.

Lately, my client discussions are not just around the next best action. Leaders are becoming more mindful and proactive about change management: How do we align cross-functional teams? How do we make the change human-centered? What about adoption? Are we ready for it? 🤝

I’ve been asking myself – what if the answers are hiding in our personal lives? Let’s be honest: did you ever feel you were ready for marriage?! That was a big change, big risks… but you did it and figured it out.

🌍I’ve lived across three countries, seven cities, and countless homes. And somewhere between visa appointments, new addresses, school search, and figuring out where to buy decent Indian food, I realized: every relocation was its own transformation program.

And the same principles that helped me adapt personally could work in the organizations I work with:

🎯Ground into Purpose – Purpose creates alignment – whether across life decisions or across business functions.

🧘‍♀️Ground with People – nothing is more human-centered than community. Alumni networks, the YMCA crew, my yoga folks – my informal “stakeholder ecosystem” that made the journey feel human, not transactional.

🏡Ground into Place – adoption doesn’t happen until people feel ownership. For me, that meant building micro-habits and micro-spaces—like Raha or the Starbucks at B&N in Transit – that made Buffalo feel like home.
