Will Bachman is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Umbrex.
Bachman began his career as a nuclear-trained submarine officer after graduating summa cum laude in physics from Harvard.
After five years in the U.S. Navy, Bachman began his management consulting career at McKinsey & Co. Bachman worked at McKinsey for five years, with a pause to complete an MBA at Columbia Business School.
In 2008, Bachman left McKinsey and started his own independent consulting practice, The Bachman Group.
As he started his practice, Bachman thought it would be helpful to be connected with others following the same path, so, along with co-founder Margarita Soto he began organizing a community for independent consultants with prior experience at McKinsey, Bain, or BCG.
The original goal – to create opportunities for members to build relationships, share lessons learned, and find opportunities to collaborate – continues to serve as the core mission of Umbrex.
Bachman is the host of Unleashed, the podcast produced by Umbrex.
