Before You Start
In Company_List, add a short list of company names, such as:
Microsoft
Walmart
Stripe
Toyota Motor
Unilever
The goal is to create a first-pass research table. Gemini-enriched company data should be reviewed before client use.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1. Create enrichment fields
In Company_Enrichment, create columns for:
Company Name
Company Description
Industry
Subsector
Headquarters
Website
Ownership Type
Likely Business Model
Source / Evidence
Confidence Level
Review Needed
Notes
Copy the company names from Company_List.
Step 2. Ask Gemini to enrich the list
Open Gemini and enter:
Act as a business research analyst.
Use the Company_Enrichment tab.
Starting with company name only, enrich each company with:
- One-sentence company description
- Industry
- Subsector
- Headquarters
- Website
- Ownership type
- Likely business model
- Source or evidence to verify
- Confidence level
- Review needed
Rules:
– Do not invent facts.
– Use Needs Review when uncertain.
– Keep descriptions concise.
– Treat the output as first-pass research, not verified fact.
Paste Gemini’s output into the enrichment columns.
Step 3. Add review logic
If Confidence Level is in column J and Website is in column F, use:
=IF(OR(J2=”Low”,F2=””,I2=””),”Yes”,”No”)
This flags low-confidence rows or rows missing website or source evidence.
Expected Result
You should have a company enrichment table with descriptions, industries, headquarters, websites, ownership types, business models, confidence levels, and review flags.
Check Your Work
Confirm that Gemini did not invent facts, company websites look plausible, private and public ownership labels are reasonable, and low-confidence rows are flagged.
Optional Extension
Ask Gemini:
Review the Company_Enrichment tab and identify companies with unclear identity, missing sources, uncertain ownership type, or descriptions that need manual verification.
