Umbrex is pleased to welcome Brent Packer with synthesize.consulting. Brent is a former Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. During his 5+ years at the Firm, he worked with Fortune 500, public sector, and nonprofit clients while specializing in digital/analytics/product and sustainability (recognized as 1 of 16 manager-level experts globally).
He has also worked with multiple startups and founded two social ventures, including an open-source zero-electricity structure that filters, cools, and dispenses water to help eliminate plastic waste.
Brent now has his own freelance consulting firm with work authorization in both the USA and Canada.
Umbrex is pleased to welcome Maia Scher. Maia spent +7 years as Management Consultant at McKinsey and has been working as independent consultant and held executive corporate roles (SME companies and startups) since 2015. With broad and generalist background, she has developed particular expertise in general management & strategy, organizational issues, and company build/ biz.dev. She has undergrad degree in Economics and MSc. in Social Psychology.
She is passionate about delivering impact with purpose in a broad set of topics, industries, functions and geographies. During 2020, she cofounded a social, non for profit organization, designed as a “human collective intelligence network” which is focused on impacting to mitigate negative effects from Covid19 (health, education, economy) and seize the crisis as an opportunity for the aftermath. She is also passionate about helping leading women succeed in their professional careers. She mentors entrepreneurs in digital ecosystem and women in business, she writes and facilitates different workshops and capability building trainings.
She currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, close to her parents, friends, and shares her home with a lovely rescued greyhound.
Umbrex is pleased to welcome Stacye Thrasher Brim with STB Consulting. Stacye spent about 2.5 years consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton prior to opening her own consulting firm in 2014. Her firm provides strategic planning, portfolio governance, project management, and process improvement consulting to small- to medium-sized organizations and nonprofits to help them establish the direction of their organization, optimize their investments, and ensure their projects deliver business value.
She lives in Atlanta, Georgia and when she’s not tackling client needs she enjoys yoga, reading, and serving as the Board Chair for Bearings Bike Works, a local nonprofit youth development organization. Stacye is a certified in each of her service areas – Project Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a Kaplan-Norton Balanced Scorecard Certified Graduate (Strategy Management). She is happy to collaborate on projects.
Umbrex is pleased to welcome Ashu Dalvi with South Pointe Strategy. Ashu has spent over 15 years as a consultant with various firms, including A.T. Kearney and Booz Allen Hamilton. He loves working on ambiguous problems and has developed and implemented transformational business strategies for tech, transportation, and non-profit clients. Ashu recently founded South Pointe Strategy, a consultancy that helps clients in all sectors build operating models that support their business ambition. Just prior, he was building out the strategy and operations practice for Slalom Consulting in San Francisco.
Ashu lives in San Francisco with his wife, Margia, and their dog, Maizie. In his free time, you can find him playing flag football and intensely watching University of Michigan basketball and football. Ashu’s favorite part of being a consultant is solutioning with peers and clients; he is happy to partner on U.S.-based projects involving strategic planning, operational improvement, and leadership development.
Umbrex is pleased to welcome Travis McElveen with Matterhorn Advisors. Travis McElveen spent nearly 4 years at McKinsey & Company in a variety of roles, including Engagement Manager, where he served companies in the transportation, aerospace, and basic materials industries across multiple functions, including operations, pricing, advanced analytics, and growth strategy. Additionally, Travis has extensive experience serving organizations in the federal and non-profit sectors.
After starting his career at McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst, Travis joined the US Navy as a pilot, ultimately becoming a Tailhook qualified aviator landing on aircraft carriers. Travis rejoined McKinsey in the Charlotte office following his military service.
He lives in Charlotte, NC, with his wife and two children and is an avid skier and outdoorsman.
