Umbrex is pleased to welcome Paul Swaney with Swaney Group.  Paul is a seasoned executive with an illustrious career spanning over two decades in manufacturing and supply chain operations. His expertise lies in redesigning supply chain models, initiating greenfield projects for manufacturing and distribution sites, and driving lean transformations. Paul’s leadership roles have seen him helm teams as large as 2000, masterminding operations organization redesigns, and implementing new processes.

Starting his professional journey in the US Navy, Paul served in Nuclear Submarine Operations & Maintenance Management, instilling in him a solid foundation of discipline, precision, and strategic thinking. Moving on to the energy sector, he joined ConocoPhillips and served as part of the Bayway Refinery Operations Management, contributing to its significant operational efficiency and profitability.

Taking his expertise in operations management to the digital world, Paul became the Distribution Center Operations Manager for Amazon.com, where he oversaw logistics, order fulfillment, and supply chain improvements. This experience was critical to his later role at Total, SA, where as a General Manager he was responsible for the chemical plant and distribution center.

Paul’s tenure at McKinsey & Co. as an Engagement Manager offered him a broader perspective of various industries, allowing him to consult for a multitude of companies while sharpening his skills in strategic planning and operations efficiency.

Paul served as a Managing Director (Operating Partner) at Partners Group, leading Direct investing in the Industrials & Chemicals sector. His strategic acumen and operational prowess have made significant impacts on the Group’s investment portfolio, further affirming his reputation as a leader in the field.

Paul is also known for his role as an Interim CXO at multiple assets, where he has used his unique blend of expertise and leadership to guide teams through transitional periods and toward new operational heights.

Throughout his career, Paul has consistently demonstrated an ability to identify and resolve complex operational challenges. His dedication, combined with his vast experience and innovative thinking, make him a valued asset to any organization.
